Moctar Dembélé
Moctar Dembélé is a young changemaker. Moctar Dembélé holds an MSc in Water and Environmental Engineering from 2iE, Burkina Faso. Since 2015, he has worked for Africa Rice Center as an assistant in geographic information systems and remote sensing. Moctar has been a HIV/Aids and sexual-education activist, and has dedicated his free time to mentoring other students within his university, where he helped improve hygiene through an eco-citizen project. In 2013, he co-founded the Faso Soap project, a social business designed to fight against malaria in Africa. Moctar was the first African to win the Global Social Venture Competition organized by the Berkeley’s Haas School of Business at the University of California. Currently, he is designing the Ankata project to help youths in academic and vocational orientation. Soon he will launch Eco-construct, which aims to recycle plastic waste. Creativity is his passion and solving new challenges is his favorite hobby.
