80 Script
Awarded the MTN SWAMA Best Hip Hop Artist 2017, 80 Script began his career in music at the tender age of 16 when he formed a 2-man group called Yung N Fresh. They went on to release a mixtape called The Hostel Nightmare which went on to receive critical acclaim amongst the high school demographic at the time. Upon enrolling at different Universities, in Swaziland and South Africa, respectively, the group dismantled.
A year in, after enrolling at the University of Swaziland, 80 Script became a member of a quartet called Forkast. The group released a few singles produced by super producer Mozaik which went on to top the radio charts in the country. Following a successful run on the music charts locally and a string of well received performances, the group was later dissolved due to the difficulties of trying to manage 4 different artists and keep them moving in the same direction as one collective.
This, in the year 2013, was followed by 80 Script starting his journey as a solo artist, under the stewardship of Gold Ambition. The artist went on to release 3 solo singles, September Mind, Let Lution Down and Casper The Friendly Ghost Flow, which, collectively, racked up 1000s of downloads. 80 Script also collaborated on a song with Kwesta (South Africa) on a project called Love Hurts by Swazi Jive. The artist then went on a run of shows promoting the 80 Script brand, while he finished up his first EP. August 29, 2014, the artist released his first full solo project called These Are The Basics EP which today is rated as a classic within the hip hop sphere. In the same year, leading up to the EP, he performed at the Hipnotik Festival sharing a stage with the likes of Cassper Nyovest, AKA, Reason and Kwesta amongst others. He also appeared on the biggest hip hop youth show in South Africa, Shizniz, which included a performance and an interview.
80 Script started the year 2015 on a high note and began work on his 2nd studio project, a mixtape he went on to release in the month of October called You Do The Dishes. It was released during his 2nd appearance on South African hip hop show Shizniz, and went on to amass close to 3000 full project downloads within the first week, as well as close to 2000 single downloads on Dobro Audio.
In 2016, the artist began work on is 3rd studio effort, an album called That of Greatness, due towards the end of 2016. He also helped put together the 1st Elite Season show hosted by Roka Swazi and Markswag which was a resounding success. The artist was heavily involved in the development of the event and also performed alongside hip hop maestro, Nasty C.
In the month of June, 80 Script was headhunted as the first headlining act for the now popular Hankey Bannister Royal Nights hosted by King Terry which took place at the Pub & Grill. The show was a success as the venue recorded a capacity crowd within the stage and performance area. This was a warm up to his Hipnotik Festival returning July, as 80 Script became one of the very few artists to perform on the platform for the 2nd time, both locally and internationally. After his return to the Hipnotik Festival, the artist then announced the 1st ever Hip Hop show to be ever hosted at the Royal Swazi Sun Convention Centre, which will be taking place on the 30th of September 2016. The event, meant to take place annually, is one of the few artist owned event franchises in the country and looks to be hugely successful one. The artist is also on the verge of releasing his 3rd studio effort, and first album, That of Greatness, which he is currently promoting. As a 2017 Sibebe Friday Night Live, he shared the Bush Fire Festival 2017 the greatest of South African greatest like TKZee and Kwesta as well as other international acts. He is currently working on his 3rd body of work title, That of Greatness, which involves collaborations with various talented stalwarts.
