Adesegun Akin-Olugbade

Adesegun Akin-Olugbade is the Executive Director and General Counsel of the Corporation, with oversight responsibility for Corporate Governance, Legal, and Corporate operations.

Adesegun Akin-Olugbade has over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession and financial services sector, having worked at both the technical and management levels, in the public and private sector, for leading commercial law firms, development banks and international financial institutions. He was previously General Counsel and Director at the African Development Bank (AfDB) and first Chief Legal Officer and Head of the Legal Services Department of the African Export-Import Bank (Afriexim Bank). He conceived the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF).

A graduate of King’s College, University of London, he also has a Master’s degree and a Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School. He is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (1984), a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association and the International Law Association, where he is a member of the Committee on International Monetary Law (MOCOMILA).
