Oba Adeoye
Oba Adeoye is a versatile, award-winning Nigerian Journalist. His experience which spans print, new media and broadcast journalism has seen him performed in various capacities including reporter, editor, producer, news anchor, programme host and director among others.
Oba Adeoye, a member of the Institute of Mass Communication and Information Management (IMIM) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) was the editor of Nigeria’s largest community newspaper, Alimosho Times before joining Daily Independent Newspaper.
His career sojourn took him to Multi Cable TV (MCTV) now known as TV3 as a reporter/producer/newscaster before joining Nigeria’s first 24-hour news Television, Network News 24 (NN24), as a member of the founding team of the station which was an affiliate with Cable News Network (CNN). At NN24, he was at different times, an assignment editor, desk writer, videographer, news and programmes anchor, and reporter.
NN24 prides itself as Africa’s first and only station with ‘Visioneers’ as staffers. This means that journalists working for NN24 could film their reports themselves with the best available video cameras, write their own scripts and edit their videos themselves. The station also pioneered the use of VizRT, a complete broadcast facility for 21st century television.
He later moved to join Television Continental (TVC) as a reporter/anchor. In 2013, TVC transformed to a 24-hours pan-African station, beaming on major platforms around the globe including BSkyB.
As a News Correspondent, Oba has covered all major elections in Nigeria since the beginning of the fourth republic. His interests include Politics, Judiciary, Human Rights and Special Packages.
He was the anchor-person of Nigeria’s hottest debate show on TV, -THE BIG ISSUE, where trending national subjects and societal issues are thrashed by passionate Nigerians from divergent backgrounds.
