Nosizipho Joyce Mxakato–Diseko
Nosizipho Joyce Mxakato–Diseko was appointed to her current position in January 2010. She has served as ambassador-at-large for Conference of Parties 17/CMP7, as national commissioner for the Public Service Commission, and as chief commissioner for the International Trade Administration Commission. Ambassador Nosizipho Joyce Mxakato–Diseko is a former board member of Trade and Tariffs and vice-chairperson of the Board of the National Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
Her career includes appointments as South African ambassador to Austria, and ambassador/permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) in Vienna, to the International Atomic Energy Agency, and to the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organisation. Ambassador Nosizipho Joyce Mxakato–Disekohas also served as vice-president of the Prep Com for the special session of the UN General Assembly on Drugs, and was a member of the UN high-level expert group established by the UN Secretary-General, Mr Kofi Annan, to evaluate the impact of the reform process on UN efforts to combat drugs.
