Sisa Ngombane

Sisa Ngombane was appointed to his current position in March 2010. He holds a Master’s degree in Management from the Open University in Malaysia, a degree in Political Science from Milton Keynes United Kingdom, and is a graduate of Social Science from the Moscow Institute of International Relations. Before assuming his current position, he was deputy director-general in the Asia and Middle East branch. Ambassador Ngombane served as the South African High Commissioner to Malaysia from 2007 to 2010. He also served as the South African Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) from 1999 and was tasked with assisting in bringing peace to the DRC so that elections could be held and government institutions could be established.

His professional career includes serving as ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire for four years. Ambassador Ngombane was also accredited to Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso and Niger, and has served as the chief representative of the ANC to the European Community and Belgium from 1990.
