Kopung Ralikontsane
Kopung Ralikontsane is acting director-general and the head of department for the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. With a degree in Commerce with Business Economics, Industrial Law and Industrial Psychology as his majors, and training as a teacher he was well prepared for his active role in socio-economic and political issues of development. His postgraduate studies include an Honours degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of the North, and a Masters in Management degree in Local Governance and Development from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Kopung Ralikontsane worked as a teacher and then joined various organisations including the South African Local Government Association Free State, then Freloga the then Department of Local Government and Housing, and Mangaung Local Government where he held various management positions in the field of local government and socioeconomic development. Since his student days, he has occupied various leadership positions and has always been involved in community development.
