Valerie Manamane Rennie
Valerie Manamane Rennie was appointed head: corporate services at the National Department of Health in 2012. Rennie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of the North and an Honours in Public Administration from the University of Bophuthatswana. She also holds qualifications in Project Management, Public Sector Accounting and Financial Control from North West University, South Africa. Valerie Manamane Rennie has risen through the ranks of the North West Department of Health, working first as deputy director for financial planning in 1997, then as finance director in 2001. In 2000 she was acting chief director: corporate services for 11 months before moving to the position of chief financial officer from 2004 to 2008. In her role as acting chief financial officer and deputy director-general: corporate services in the department she was responsible for management and implementation of policies and procedures in the branch. In her current position Valerie is responsible for, among other things, providing strategic direction to corporate support services that will enhance the achievement of the department’s strategic goals as outlined in the National Service Delivery Agreement.
