Thabane Wiseman Zulu

Thabane Wiseman Zulu was appointed Di rec tor-Genera l at Human Settlements in 2009. He holds a BAdmin (Hons) degree from the University of the Western Cape, a MBA from the Management College of Southern Africa, and is currently reading for a doct. Mr Zulu’s appointment in the Department of Human Settlements came at a time when administration had to be taken to the next stage of development in pursuit of South Africa’s spatial planning and management objectives. As Director-General Thabane Wiseman Zulu is responsible for human settlements and a host of housing institutions. Mr Zulu’s management and corporate governance experience spans more than 15 years.

As the head of KwaZulu-Natal’s Department of Social Development, he was tasked with transforming the Department to make it more accountable and aligned with departmental objectives. The province saw the importance of professionalism, effective administration, accountability and performance driven administration in the systems employed within a rulebased environment.
