Prof. Salifu Mohammed
Prof. Salifu Mohammed represents the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) on the PBC Limited Board of Directors. He has over twenty years of experience in higher education teaching, research and service to industry and the community as a transportation and road transport safety and logistics expert.
Prof. Salifu Mohammed is a Professor of Transport Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Over the years, he has served variously as Head of Civil Engineering at KNUST (2010-2014) and Head of Traffic and Transportation Engineering Division of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) from 2004 to 2006. He has training in finance for non-finance managers, Corporate Governance, strategic team building and appraisal.
Prof. Salifu is currently Executive Secretary of the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) and still active in professional activities both home and abroad.
Prof. Salifu is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers and also served as the National Vice President and Head of Education and Training 2011-2012. In the year 2012, he was a member of the International Road Federation Group of Experts on Road Safety was and also Chairman of the session on Governance, at the International Seminar on Road Financing and Investment in April 2007. He was the leader of the Accra to Kumasi dualisation project. He has also researched and executed several road and transport infrastructure projects in various capacities, including Team Leader and Transport/Logistics Engineer.
In addition to his technical expertise, Prof. Salifu has over the years served as the patron and sole sponsor of the Dagbon Thesis Assistance Fund which was instituted in the year 2000 for the most promising Final Year Project Work at KNUST which is aimed at identifying areas of potential investment and poverty alleviation in the Dabgon Traditional Area. He has also been a Patron of the KNUST Old Tamascans Association (OTA) since the year 2002.
