Rev. Prof. Andrews Seth Ayetteh
Rev. Prof. Ayettey was born 10th October 1945 at Osu, Accra Ghana. He attended the Osu Salem Middle Boys Boarding School. After Secondary School education at Adisadel College, Cape Coast (1961-1967), he studied at the University of Ghana Medical School. In 1970, he was awarded Ghana Government scholarship for a BSc degree in Anatomy at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London University in 1970. Andrews Seth Ayetteh continued his medical studies back in Ghana and graduated as a medical doctor at the University of Ghana in 1974. In 1978, he gained the degree of PhD in Anatomy at the University of Cambridge, UK and joined the University of Ghana Medical School as lecturer in Anatomy in 1978.
He served the University as teacher and medical science researcher for 37 years and occupied the position of Head of Department of Anatomy, Vice Dean, and Dean of the Medical School and as Provost of the College of Health Sciences of the University of Ghana. He also a Visiting Professor to Tulane University, USA, between 1986 and 1997.
From 1998, he has served as member and, later, Chairman of the Prison Council, Chairman of the Korle Bu Management Board and member of the Council of the Presbyterian University College. He is a member of the Judicial Council and of the VALCO Board.
Prof. Ayettey has been a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for 29 years, a member of Boards of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Ghana and Youth for Christ Ghana (from 1974 to 1985), member of the Advisory Council of World Vision Ghana (1982-2010) and a member of the World Vision International Board of Directors (2000-2010). He is married to Cecilia Naakai Ayettey and have five daughters and five grandchildren.
