Dr. Francis Bawaana Dakura
Hon. Dr Francis Bawaana Dakura is a Member of the VALCO Board. He is an anthropologist and a former Member of Parliament for Jirapa in the Upper West Region. He is a businessman and a farmer. Dr Dakura is a people-oriented, focused, forward-looking, task- and results oriented individual, grateful to God the Almighty for the rare gifts of social tools to help meet the challenges of the needs of humanity in the 21st century. As a social anthropologist, he is a natural social engineer and a creative business developer, with good social communication skills, who believes in team work risk taking in Ghana.
Francis Bawaana Dakura offers strategic leadership through team building and patient mentoring skills. Having lived, studied and worked in Western Europe for a good part of his adult life, he regards himself as a cultural hybrid. He enjoys the challenges presented by the continuous currency of Information and Communications Technology as there is always something new to learn.
Hon. Dr Dakura holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Havering College, United Kingdom. He also holds a Diploma from the Institute of Social Sciences, Moscow and has the Finals of the CISA (Chartered Institute of Secretaries & Administrators). He also possesses an MA (Master of Arts from the University of London Goldsmiths College, a Master of Letters (M.Litt) from University of St. Andrews Fife Scotland. Dr Dakura holds a PhD from the University of St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.
