Stephen G. Gathongo

Stephen G. Gathongo joined the Bank in November 2016 as the Director Credit responsible for management of the Banks credit function and providing leadership and guidance in all matters relating to credit management, credit approvals, monitoring and controlling the credit portfolio, as well as debt recovery.

Stephen G. Gathongo holds an MBA (Finance) from University of Leicester– UK and bachelors of Commerce from University of Nairobi. He holds professional qualifications in ACIB- London and CPA-Kenya.

Stephen has 22 years vast working experience in the field of Credit Management. Prior to joining the bank, He worked as a Senior Manager Credit in KCB. Previously he has worked in Barclays Bank in various positions and in KCB Uganda as Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Credit where he set up the credit functions (for UG), centralized credit admin and securitization process.
