Rita Tavares
Rita Tavares is a Human Resource manager at Population Services International (PSI) Angola, a USAID funded NGO that does social marketing for goods and services in public health areas such as malaria, HIV, and others. Rita is responsible for ensuring quality human resources throughout Angola where PSI works. With a legal background and 8 years of experience helping less fortunate communities understand their fundamental rights, Rita Tavares takes a business approach to empowering and saving lives of disadvantaged communities in her country. Once she returns to Angola, she intends to apply acquired skills to build capacities not only within her organization but in the communities, ensuring every time their activities are done, a group of community leaders are equipped with skills and knowledge to maintain that change of behavior in the various targeted health areas, so that developing communities become self-reliant when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle.
