Katlego Kalvin Kolanyane-Kesupile

Katlego K. Kolanyane-Kesupile is a groundbreaking ARTivist from Botswana with a decade’s worth of experience working across communications, performing arts, education, and human rights. Katlego uses these skills to create spaces to encourage community dialogue, advocate for inclusive practices, and develop innovative solutions to systemic (especially gender-related) problems locally and globally. Katlego is a Chevening Scholar and holds a master’s degree in Human Rights, Culture, and Social Justice from the Goldsmiths University of London, where she focused on disability rights and public space occupancy. Katlego is a 2017 TED Fellow, 2015 Queen’s Young Leader and, in 2018, was named on the OkayAfrica #100Women list as one of the ten most influential women of African descent working in the arts. Upon completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Katlego plans to produce the fourth installment of her LGBT+ themed theatre festival, Queer Shorts Showcase, publish academic and creative writing in English and Setswana, and develop art-driven strategies for disability advocacy.
