Unami Masego Moatswi

Unami is an activist with over four years’ experience in youth and gender advocacy and for the past 16 months has advocated for evidence-based solutions to address teenage pregnancy and HIV. Her charismatic leadership, reliability, and results orientation have allowed her to co-found an NGO called Young Love, for which she is now the Development Manager. She established good relations with government stakeholders and sits on three government technical working groups concerned with youth and adolescent health. She also nurtured and managed relationships with over 340 school heads that enabled Young Love to reach over 50,000 young people in 40 working days. Unami has a Social Science degree from the University of Botswana and has an aspiration to become a shrewd policy analyst within five years. Upon completion of the Fellowship, Unami hopes to work closely with teenage mothers to empower them to return to school.
