Mmoloki Ludoh Morapedi

Mmoloki Morapedi has over 6 years of experience in the aviation industry, specifically focusing on research, development, and materials up-cycling. Currently, Mmoloki is a Director and Design Engineer at Aviation Investment and Development Company, where he specializes in the design and testing of aircraft engines, structural components, and unmanned aircraft (U.A.V) prototyping. Aviation Investment and Development Company, under its research department, is also currently involved in the up-cycling of retired aircraft components as a way of protecting the environment and creatively engineering pieces of artwork. Mmoloki is driven by his passion in aviation to grow the industry in Botswana in a way that creates employment for the youth, improves people’s way of living, and encourages innovation and creativity. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington fellowship, Mmoloki plans to further pursue his research work, with special focus on aircraft components design, research, and manufacturing as part of his project to build the first advanced electric powered helicopter to come out of Africa.
