Thabo Mashaba

Mr Mashaba joined Alexander Forbes in 2012 as Group Chief Human Resources Officer. He was responsible for conceptualising and executing the group human resources strategy. From September 2017 Mr Mashaba assumed the role of Group Chief Empowerment and Transformation Officer.

Mr Mashaba has over 23 years’ experience in the financial sector. Prior to joining Alexander Forbes, he spent most of his career in the banking sector where he assumed various senior leadership roles, including head of human resources at Absa Retail Bank, head of employee relations at Absa Group and Barclays Africa, and regional manager of PrivatBank.

Mr Mashaba holds an MBA from the University of Potchefstroom and a BCom with honours from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He took part in the Global Executive Development Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science and has an executive Master’s in Consulting and Coaching for Change from Insead, which he obtained in France and Singapore.

Mr Mashaba is a trustee of several Alexander Forbes trusts.
