Hal Souakar Ambera

Hal Souakar Ambera, Ph.D. student and a trained nutritionist, was in very early contact with the victims of conflicts in his country and the neighboring countries. Therefore, he embarked on a humanitarian life alongside NGOs in order to bring hope to the people in areas where they are fighting child and maternal malnutrition. Hal Souakar Ambera founded a humanitarian association, Amis en Action (AEA,) to better respond to the needs of these vulnerable people. AEA works on several themes including education, environment through ecological sanitation, and maternal and child health. Recognizing the African potential in the response to its own problems, Hal Souakar, as a researcher, develops and disseminates infant foods based on local products. He also works with an international movement and the government of his country to improve food and nutrition for prisoners. At the end of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he plans to continue his struggle and refine the implementation of one of his projects, Chad and Templin, which is an initiative to involve more young people in the construction of the country and mark it with white stone.
