Nyakasane Muhimuzi Adolphe
Nyakasane Muhimuzi Adolphe has five years of experience in general medicine and pediatrics. He also has experience in peacebuilding and development in the eastern DR Congo. Currently, Adolphe is head of the pediatric service at the General Hospital of CIRIRI in Bukavu. He has a staff of 25 physicians and nurses. Nyakasane Muhimuzi Adolphe is founder and coordinator of Action Sociale Kesho Kongo, a development platform that works on projects in the fields of health, education, agriculture, and farming (www.keshokongo.org). Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Adolphe plans to focus on fighting malnutrition in children under 10 years, improving children’s health in eastern DR Congo, educating disadvantaged youngsters, and empowering rural women. He studied General Medicine at the Catholic University of Bukavu, DR Congo, a master’s in Pediatrics at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and specialized training in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology in Paris, France.
