Guy Lama Shungu
Guy Lama Shungu has over three years experience in natural resources management, focusing on mining and water resources management. Currently, Guy Lama Shungu is a Consultant at the Ministry of Mining in North Kivu where he works on formalizing artisanal mining in the region. Guy is also the Director of Centre d’Expertise et d’Etudes Géologiques (CEEG), a local NGO that works with mining cooperatives of North and South Kivu. Guy holds a Master’s degree in Geology. He is committed to implementing the proper management of natural resources for sustainable development of local communities in eastern D.R.Congo. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Guy plans to continue his work in the formalization of the artisanal mining sector. He will focus on capacity building and create a network to gather local mining sector organizations to increase development and bring attention to education, health, environmental and technical support.
