Abdelaziz Mohamed Elmi
Abdelaziz Mohamed Elmi holds dual Bachelors degrees in Software Engineering and Technology and Innovation from Staffordshire University and Asia Pacific University, respectively. Prior to starting university, he had been working with international and domestic aid organizations for two years. In addition, Abdelaziz Mohamed Elmi made significant contributions to a one-year micro-credit program aimed at alleviating abject poverty from the poorest sectors in Kedah State, Malaysia. Since concluding his studies, Abdelaziz has provided IT consulting services to small and medium sized enterprises. He also works closely with the executive branch of the Academy for Peace and Development (APD), a non-state organization that provides research, mediation and advisory services focused on conflict resolution, national election monitoring, and achieving short and long term development goals. Upon finishing the Mandela Washington Fellowship(Africa), Abdelaziz is planning to build a tech startup incubator while also contributing to technology initiatives focused on good governance, automated state systems, smart energy grids, and the use of pervasive computing to understand the impact of climate change on the world’s most fragile regions.
