Melat Habtemariam Abate

Melat Habtemariam Abate has over two years of experience building affordable piped water systems in rural communities by combining mobile technology with innovative business solutions. Currently, Melat is the VP of Flowius for Triple Bottom Line Enterprises, where she focuses on recruiting, training and managing franchisees of the business. Melat holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Addis Ababa Institute of Technology and a second degree in Management. She’s also a co-founder of another start-up which is a modern delivery service of fresh dairy products to urban households, currently being incubated at Blue Moon. Melat Habtemariam Abate has a great passion for addressing some of Africa’s biggest problems and working to find solutions with technology and innovation. Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, she plans to implement the lessons and networks towards scaling up her projects to more regions across Ethiopia and Africa.
