Medhin Mekonnen Demena
Medhin Mekonnen is an experienced general manager with eleven years’ experience in the agribusiness sector. Since 2009, he worked as a general manager of a farmers’ agricultural cooperative union, which is engaged in farm input supply, provision of extension services, and microfinance services in Ethiopia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Business Management and a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development from Haramaya University. Medhin Mekonnen Demena is driven by his passion for using social entrepreneurship to positively affect smallholder farmers. He is innovative and possesses strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking skills, and business development capacities. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Medhin plans to continue and further strengthen his work with smallholder farmers.
