Luwam Bahta Hagos
Luwam Bahta Hagos has five years of experience in teaching, research, and community service. She is currently a lecturer and officer at the Institute Industry Linkage, which establishes connections between students and faculty in the textile, garment, leather, and fashion industries with governmental and non-governmental organizations. Previously, she worked as an internal and external relations officer, increasing the visibility of the institute’s reputation nationally and internationally. She believes that the textile industry has a potential to contribute to the national economy and her professional career growth. Luwam Bahta Hagos holds bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering and a master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from EiTEX at Bahirdar University. Luwam is motivated to improve the efficiency of the textile manufacturing industry in Ethiopia through research in collaboration with students. She is also known for her energetic participation in various social and humanitarian volunteer activities. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Luwam plans to pursue a leadership role at the university, educating students through research and technology, increasing the impact of the training and improving efficiency in the textile manufacturing industry. She also wants to become a role model to other young women who deserve access to leadership training.
