Sewnet Tesfaye Lema
Sewnet Tesfaye Lema has been a lecturer in the Department of Tourism Management, Madda Walabu University, Ethiopia, since 2011. He has conducted four training projects for local communities on sustainable tourism and natural heritage conservation in the Bale Zone, as well as research in tourism and natural resources. Sewnet has an MA degree in Tourism and Heritage Management from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. Sewnet Tesfaye Lema initiated the establishment of Madda Walabu University’s Sustainable Tourism Club, which aims to create awareness around the conservation of natural tourism resources for communities living in and around the Bale Mountains National Park. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Sewnet aspires to upgrade this club into a local NGO. He is also the initiator and one of three founders of the Kiyya Charity Club, which aims to help needy students in primary and high schools, colleges and universities in the Bale Zone.
