Benedict Mensah Arkhurst
Benedict Arkhurst has over six years’ experience in urban management and city planning, with a special focus on sustainable development. He is currently a spatial and sustainable development planner at the Town and Country Planning Department of Ghana, and is the CEO of Sustainable Built Environment Initiative, where he influences spatial strategies and public policies to ensure resilient, sustainable and inclusive cities. Benedict Mensah Arkhurst holds an MSc in Spatial Planning with specialization in Sustainable Urban Development from the University College London in the UK. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Program, Benedict plans to continue developing strategies and policies that will promote the inclusion of women and vulnerable groups in the planning process of all levels of spatial plan preparation and implementation. He will also continue his focus on land management aimed at promoting inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities in Ghana.
