Hikmat Baba Dua

Hikmat has over five years’ experience in advocacy, youth development, and community advancement. She is the founder and executive director of the League of Young Female Leaders, a non-profit organization focused on mentorship, advocacy, and community development. She is currently working as a regional coordinator with LitWorld International for the 10,000 Global Girls Initiative, and has established LitClubs as safe learning centers for girls in school and in communities. Hikmat Baba Dua holds a BA in Sociology and Social Work from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Development Studies at the University for Development Studies, Ghana. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Hikmat will continue to pursue issues related to girls and women’s advancement and also hopes to mobilize resources to establish an education academy which will also serve as a learning center during summer for out-of-school girls.
