Joannishka Kuokor Dsani
Dr. Joannishka Dsani has over three years of experience strengthening the relationship between civil society and the veterinary industry in Ghana. As manager of the Biomedical Research Unit of Alvitrak Ghana Limited, she successfully championed the creation of Ghana’s first animal microchip database, which allows owners to register their companion animals on a computerized system.Joannishka Kuokor Dsani is also co-founder of Dom Mira Ghana, a social initiative, which finds homes for abandoned animals. Joannishka is a national executive of the Junior Veterinary Surgeons Association in Ghana and is currently co-producing a television show which highlights agro-veterinary issues. She is a Russia-Ghana Bilateral Cooperation Agreement scholar, holding a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Organization Development. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Joannishka hopes to continue her work in introducing innovation and modern technology to Ghana’s veterinary industry and promoting policies that will give space to animal rights in Ghana.
