Marco Stanley Nyarko
Marco Stanley Nyarko is a professional teacher with over ten year’ of teaching experience both in training interpreters in sign language and in classroom teaching. Aside his teaching experience, Marco is currently president of the Eastern Region Association of the Deaf,Ghana ,where he implements policies to govern the association’s progress. Marco has also organized a number of workshops and training for sign language interpreters, in order to facilitate communication between the deaf and the hearing. Marco Stanley Nyarko organised a dissemination workshop on his recent research on peer-to-peer deaf literacy. Marco holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education. He is responsible for the academic training of young students and preparing them for employment upon completion of their secondary education. After the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Marco plans to set up a private sign language institute to train more interpreters who will bridge the communication gap.
