Mamoudou Berete

Mamoudou Berete

Mamoudou Berete has over five years’ experience in many fields in the civic education and community development sectors. Currently, he is the president of an NGO called Committed Young People for Sustainable Development. Mamoudou Berete also volunteers at the public school as an English teacher. Because his own brother died in an underground mining collapse, he now leads and sensitizes young students against stopping school before completing their secondary school. By discouraging them from prematurely engaging in mining, he intends to give them the chance to further their studies. Mamoudou holds bachelor’s degrees in Translation/ Business from the University of Sonfonia, and in Local Development from the Superior Institute of Distance Learning. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship(Africa), Mamoudou plans to continue his work in civic education and environmental protection, while encouraging people in his community to educate children, and promoting equal justice for everyone.
