Assumpta Jeptum Kittony

Assumpta Jeptum Kittony has four years’ experience in fashion and product design, with emphasis on empowerment and creating employment for the women in her community. She is currently the chief designer for Sumi Kittony Fashion Brand and Portia Luxury Products, where she focuses on creating employment for the women in the surrounding communities. She also volunteers in her local church in mentoring teenage girls, and teaching women in her community basic tailoring and jewelry-making. Assumpta Jeptum Kittony has taught fashion design at the Technical University of Kenya and holds a degree in Design from the University of Nairobi, with a focus was fashion entrepreneurship and product manufacturing in Kenya. Upon completion Mandela Washington Fellowship, Assumpta plans to continue with entrepreneurship and to focus on empowering and creating employment for the youth and women in line with Kenya’s Vision 2030.
