Stephen Kimani Njuguna

Stephen Kimani Njuguna is an entrepreneur with a passion for software development to tackle big social problems. Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer science from Kenyatta University, Kenya. Stephen Kimani Njuguna has over five years of software development experience and has worked in diverse industries and teams, such as Google Inc., Transparency International Kenyan chapter, to develop scale-able software solutions. Stephen is an alumnus of the Google software engineering program based in Switzerland; he was one of three students picked from Africa to undergo the software engineering internship. At Google, Stephen served in the emerging markets team where they developed the BebaPay platform, Kenya‘s first commuter cashless payment system. Stephen has also served as Co-founder and CTO for a Nairobi based tech Company , Maramoja Transport, where they provide safe and reliable transport services to Kenyans. Stephen is currently the technology and product lead at Spire Education, where they strive to train East African employees to become better at their jobs. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Stephen wishes to work towards the full launch of his second company, which has a focus on bridging the trust gap between farmers and out-growers.
