Wesley Thomas Owiti

Wesley Owiti is a social entrepreneur who is passionate about women’s empowerment and financial inclusion. He is group CEO and co-founder of Cherehani Africa, a social enterprise that offers training in tailoring to less fortunate women in emerging and underserved markets in Africa. On completion of their training, the women are loaned sewing machines in order to start their entrepreneurial journey. For two years, he has been leading policy making, implementation, and monitoring at Cherehani Africa, as well as reporting to the relevant stakeholders about performance. Wesley looks forward to sharing and learning vital business development and growth strategies at the Mandela Washington Fellowship. Wesley Thomas Owiti intends to leverage the networks created to augment his ongoing commitment to sustainable poverty alleviation and women’s empowerment initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi, and is currently pursuing a master’s in Project Planning and Management at the same university.
