Hape Marite

Hape Marite has three years’ experience as the managing director of Black Hair, an organic and natural hair care product line launched in 2015. This company was motivated by her own hair needs, which were met better by natural food grade ingredients. Hape has always had a knack for entrepreneurship and acquisition of residual income. She started her first business when she was thirteen selling sandwiches during the early morning rush near office complexes during school vacation. She has also dabbled in the transportation industry. Marite loves to experiment with and explore natural cosmetic ingredients. In addition to selling products, she provides healthy hair care consultations. She aspires to have a full-time cosmetic product firm and a natural hair salon. She believes that growing her business will help create permanent positions for her current temporary staff, as well as create more job opportunities for women and youth in her community of Ha Tsiu. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she aims to strengthen and grow the booming manufacturing sector in Lesotho strategically.
