Martin Nduati Wangari
Martin Nduati volunteers a as grassroots community mobilizer who has a passion for working with rural youth. Currently, Martin is the president of a youth forum, a community-based organization that represents over 1,000 affiliate youth groups. This forum was formed with support from the Yes Youth Can program in Kenya. In his work, Martin continually engages youth and challenges them to take lead roles in finding solutions to community and society problems. Martin works within a team that mobilizes the youth to form formally registered youth groups and builds the capacity of the youth to exercise a raised voice. Martin Nduati Wangari also works to link the youth to financial solution providers and other economic empowerment programs. In his work he also deals with gender issues, especially of the inclusion of young women in community sectors. After the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Martin intends to focus on creating youth employment.
