Magdalene Ayorkor Matthews

Magdalene Ayorkor Matthews has over five years’ experience working in public management, specifically in the development sector, holding various administrative and programmatic positions. Currently, she serves as program manager and water quality specialist for the USAID-funded Liberia Municipal Water Project, where she supports programming and coordinates the water quality and environmental compliance components of the project. Magdalene Ayorkor Matthews is the author of RISE! Redeeming the Future of Liberia: A Practical Guide To Self-Development, an inspirational book which she promotes through volunteer seminars in schools and colleges across Liberia(Africa). She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Health from the Harvard School of Public Health’s Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health, and volunteers as a guest contributor to the environmental column of the Daily Observer Newspaper. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she hopes to support the government of Liberia in its current efforts to revise national drinking water quality standards.
