Elysé Rabearivola Nomenjanahary
Elysé Rabearivola Nomenjanahary has over five years’ experience in environmental conservation, community-based ecotourism, and rural development. Elysé Rabearivola Nomenjanahary currently works as the leader of an association called The Research Assistant Group Association of Diego Suarez (RAGADS), and also acts as a co-coordinator. He has been instrumental in creating a community-managed conservation and ecotourism project in Bobaomby. The project has focused on the issues of forest conservation, ecotourism development, and local community livelihoods, teaching local people English language skills, and collaborating with the local community while doing research. Elyse earned a bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Tourism in 2009 and a master’s in Applied Linguistics in 2014 from the University of Antsiranana, Madagascar(Africa). Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Elyse plans to create an NGO called Native Nature Conservation (NNC) in order to officially launch and manage a new ecotourism destination and protected area.
