Alimata Diarra
Alimata Diarra has over 10 years of experience working in law and human rights. Currently, she is a human rights officer within the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). Her major responsibilities include monitoring, investigating, and documenting human rights violation and abuses in a post-conflict setting. She is also in charge of transitional-justice process implementation in Mali. In that role, she contributes to maintaining dialog with state members, communities, and armed groups actors to ensure their adherence to the peace process and security in Mali. Alimata Diarra provides assistance for women and girls who have been victims of sexual violence as well as rape, forced marriage, and sexual slavery during the conflict in Mali. After the Mandela Washington Fellowship(Africa), she plans to develop a sensitizing program on leadership and career development for women and girls.
