Aarthi Burtony

Aarthi Burtony is a blind disability activist and an intern at the Supreme Court of Mauritius. She is active in several roles including serving as the Chairperson of DIS-MOI, a non-profit organization advocating for the promotion and protection of human rights in Mauritius and the south-west Indian Ocean. She is also the President of CEDEM, a non-profit organization working for the welfare of needy children; including children with disabilities. Aarthi serves as the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Forum of Women with Disabilities and is a board member of the Training and Employment of Disabled Persons. She strives to educate people on disability rights and create an inclusive Mauritian society whereby discrimination on the ground of disability is non-existent. Stayed in Africa.
