Mandela Asser Kapere
Mandela Asser Kapere serves as the executive chairperson of the National Youth Council of Namibia. He has extensive knowledge and experience in diplomacy, policy, and youth development. As deputy secretary general and later deputy president of the Pan-African Youth Union, he has worked extensively across the continent and within the African Union, United Nations and Southern Africa Development Cooperation. Mandela Asser Kapere is a keen proponent of governance reform and has extensive working experience and exposure in the field. Mandela plans to use his 13 years’ experience to work with youth organisations in strengthening governance and leadership. He has served on numerous national bodies and was appointed by the president of the Republic as a member of the National Youth Service, of which he subsequently became chairperson of the board. He has served as a commissioner on the National Drug Control board and on the national coordinating committee on tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/Aids.
