Ibrahim Sidi Zakari

Ibrahim Sidi Zakari has over eight years of experience nationally and internationally in e-commerce, government, and academia. Currently, Ibrahim is serving as Assistant Professor at Abdou Moumouni University, where he is taking a lead role in managing data science projects. Ibrahim’s research interests include the quality of public expenditure, dynamics of social class, air pollution, and epidemiology. Ibrahim Sidi Zakari has served as a data modeler analyst at the Division of Economic Policy of the Center for Analysis and Prospective Development (CAPED)-Niger. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Cadi Ayyad University in Morocco, and Lille 1 University, France, where he focused on high-dimensional statistical modeling. Ibrahim invented Tabtakey, a computer keyboard integrating a mathematical algorithm for searching dates in the Gregorian calendar. He is a member of the Global Young Academy and is the Next Einstein Forum’s Ambassador for promoting equal access to education and more public investment for STEM in Niger.Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Ibrahim plans to empower 1,000 students per year with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and leadership skills via his online platform. He is creating a local network for science advice and pursuing collaboration towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and African Union’s Agenda 2063.
