Francis Ifeanyi Ayomoh

Francis Ayomoh has over five years’ experience in clinical medicine and has worked as a public health practitioner for over two years. Currently, Francis is a senior medical officer in the federal Ministry of Health, where he focuses on health systems strengthening. He is a recipient of the prestigious President’s NYSC Honours Award and chairs the Sustainable Development Goals and International Collaborations Committee of the National Association of President’s Honours Awardees. Francis Ifeanyi Ayomoh practiced as a resident doctor in internal medicine and volunteered for several health missions across Nigeria. He advocates for youth, women, and people with disabilities. Francis holds a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Jos, where he received the Legacy Prize for Excellence in Medicine from the Tony Elumelu Foundation in Nigeria. He is driven by his desire to achieve universal health coverage so that every Nigerian has access to quality and affordable healthcare. Francis is passionate about health financing and policy. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he intends to spearhead health policy reforms, which will increase domestic funding for health, expand health insurance coverage, and improve primary healthcare in Nigeria.
