Christelle Umuhoza

Christelle Umuhoza has six year of experience in administration and the community development sector, specifically focusing on health and education. Currently, Christelle is working as Citizen Voice and Action Facilitator with World Vision Rwanda on a USDA nation-wide project. Here, she facilitates and coordinates the implementation of Citizen Voice and Action (CVA), a community-based social accountability approach, used to foster change among parents and the community by educating them on government policies and their rights as citizens in order to improve services that impact their daily lives, such as health and education.Christelle is driven by her commitment to community development and youth empowerment. She runs a program she founded called Umuhoza that focuses on empowering Rwandan youth, especially girls, through capacity building, advocacy, and addressing gender equality and mental health support needs. She is in the process of registering Umuhoza as a local NGO. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Christelle plans to continue her work in community development, with a focus on youth empowerment, and contribute towards a strong and healthy future generation of Rwanda.
