Linda Amornghor-Oje Etta

Linda Amornghor-Oje Etta has over six years’ experience in the maritime industry. Currently, Linda Amornghor-Oje Etta is a program assistant at Global Monitoring of the Environment and Security in Africa, a project of the Science and Technology Division at the African Union Commission. This project focuses on how Earth observation systems can be used to mitigate the effects of climate change and ensure civil security. The project’s primary thematic areas are natural resources and marine and coastal areas. She has experience in volunteering and project management and is passionate about women’s empowerment and poverty alleviation. Linda holds a master’s degree in Maritime Affairs with a specialization in Maritime Safety and Environmental Administration from the World Maritime University in Sweden. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Linda plans to continue her work on the sustainable use of oceans and their resources and advocate for the inclusion of more women in her industry. She also hopes to use her newly gained skills, knowledge, and resources to start a research institute to provide opportunities for youth. Stayed in Nigeria.
