René Roos

René completed her BCom (Hons) degree at UJ in 1989 and her MBA at Wits Business School in 1999. She joined the group in 1997 as HR executive and has been a member of the executive committee since 1999. She was appointed as chairperson of the shared services unit in 2004 and became CEO thereof when it was set up as a group division in 2007. René served on various subsidiary boards of directors over the duration of her employment with DAWN, including Wholesale Housing Supplies, Springset, United Express and recently, Hamilton’s. She is currently group chief of staff and serves as strategic business
