Yershen Pillay

Yershen Pillay

Yershen Pillay studied at the University of Cape Town (UCT) where he obtained his Social Sciences Degree majoring in Politics and Economics. In 2005, Mr. Pillay received a Deputy Vice-Chancellors Leadership Award.

From 2006 until 2009 he served as a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the South African Union of Students (SAUS) and was also part of the Policy Unit responsible for the development of the National Student Policy on Curriculum Development and Transformation.

In 2010, Yershen Pillay was appointed to serve on the Human Resources Development Council of South Africa. He was also part of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Council of South Africa in 2013.

Yershen Pillay has also served on the Board of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and, has recently been appointed to the board of ACSA.
