After Mzeezolyt had her performance at the Bassline, Newtown at the SAADA Young Artists Gala Night last year , one industry fundi said “I haven’t never seen such a dedicated and an enchanting spiritual performer reminiscent of Busi Mhlongo”.

Known as Mzeezolyt but born as Zanele Ndhlovu in Randfontein she later moved to Boksburg where she currently resides. Mzeezolyt truly owns the stage when she performs. She has that penchant for African rhythms and melodies and her spiritual side comes out in her vocal abilities and stage presence. She was discovered by Arthur during the South African Arts & Development Association workshops and auditions competition last year. Her stage presence and vigour and had the audience in raptures. Her song “Ingoma” laced with wonderful African chants and melodies, impressed Arthur enough to rope her into his legendary 999 music stable. Mzeezolyt has a passion for singing, acting and art. Her artistic background comes through on stage as she draws inspiration from African melodies and her ancestral influences.

She is also inspired by Thandiswa Mazwai, Simphiwe Dana and the late Busi Mhlongo

and international atists like Beyonce, Jazmine Sullivan and India Arie. Mzeezolyt’s future is bright in the capable hands of 999 Music.

Her single “Ingoma” was part of the 999 Music SABC 1 Summa Ya di Summa compilation which won the 2016 Metro Music Award for Best Compilation recently. Her marketing campaign includes the 999 Music Celebration at the Pretoria State Theatre, Can Do Refresh Campus and Summer Tours. In an industry where her peers are known for gyrating, Mzeezolyt is a breath of fresh as she is a performer par excellence. When asked what are her dreams and aspirations as a musician? She replied “Wherever the purest light leads, I will follow”.
