Tim Davies is the Executive Director of IBM‘s “Data & AI Expert Labs and Learning” Architecture team across all industries worldwide. Tim also a top IBM (which has a branch in South Africa) Banking and Financial Markets Executive for IBM. Tim leads the team of architects who provide clients with industry-specific guidance to help them identify opportunities where they can more effectively use Data, Analytics, AI and Cloud. This work enables clients to generating new intelligence to improve their business performance, drive digital transformation roadmaps, and create competitive advantage. Tim is one of the creators of IBM’s Data First Garage Method and is in the field driving Data, Analytics, AI, and Cloud Strategy for IBM clients worldwide. The Tim Davies & team works with clients to address all forms of information management needs and Analytic best practices including capabilities to: drive Digital Transformation, Data Strategy, Roadmaps, Data Topology, Data Flow Architecture, Common Data/Governance, AI Cognitive/Advanced Analytics, and Secure Hybrid Cloud/Private Cloud Data Lakes and solutions to address client’s needs. 

Tim Davies is an accomplished professional with over 25 years experience in the industry as a practitioner in Senior Executive positions in US based Financial Markets companies such as Fidelity Investments and American Express; focused in Business and technology of Digital Transformation, Risk Management, Information Management, Operations, and Finance. Tim is also one of the leading content providers for IBM Data, Analytics, AI and Cloud curriculums, best practices, and methodologies world wide. Tim joined IBM in 2005 from the IBM acquisition of Ascential Software that resulted in the creation of the IBM InfoSphere suite of products. As Director of Risk Management and Compliance Technology at Fidelity Investments, Tim was engaged in building some of the world’s largest and most complex real time Data Warehouses in the Financial Services industry. For his work in Financial Services Tim and his team won the 1997 Data Warehouse of the Year award from the Data Warehouse Institute and the 1997 Real Ware award from DBExpo. Prior to his work in the financial service industry, Tim was Director of Research and Development at American Express & Epsilon Data Management. Over a five year period at Epsilon Tim helped build several direct marketing solution offerings, and led the field delivery of over 40 enterprise CRM data warehouses. Tim held has positions as Chief Software Engineer for Hercules Corporation, the founder of several successful start-up companies, and was formerly a Hughes Fellow with Hughes Corporation. Tim has published numerous papers and holds an MSEE/CS degree from the University of Southern California and a BSEE/CS degree from Clarkson University.
