Alec Hogg

Alec Hogg is a writer and broadcaster. He founded Money Web and is its editor–in-chief.

Alec is the recipient of many awards, is the youngest ever winner of the country’s Financial Reporter of the Year Award, aged 22 in 1983. He founded and published the country’s first weekly horseracing magazine, Racing Digest (eventually absorbed into the CTP publishing group).

Alec Hogg is the Chief Executive of the JSE listed media company Money web and is the regular host of South Africa’s premier business radio programme, Classis Business, which is broadcast in prime-time every weekday evening.

He has had a couple of years as ABSA’s Group General Manager and has had a career in financial journalism as a writer, editor, broadcaster, columnist and publisher. 
Alec has held senior positions in the print media, served as the Head of News Input at SABC (South Africa)TV News and ran his own publishing business
